An Introduction of traditional Chinese medicine

Tradional Chinese Medicine is a complete medical system, consisting of mainly herbal remedy and  acupuncture based therapies. It was established 4,000 years ago in China. Today, it serves over two billion people worldwide including people live in Austrilia, Europe and USA. Traditional Chinese Medicine views the human body as an energy (Qi) system in which various substances interact with each other through the meridians or ‘channals’ of the body to create a dynamic balance in healthy subjects and, by implication, an unhealthy state is characterised by a disruption of the balance.

A well-trained Chinese doctor can easily diagnose the imbalance within your body, even before any disease is developed. By restoring the dynamic balance of whole body, traditional Chinese medicine not only treats your current conditions, but also prevents diseases; therefore to maintain a good health.

Herbal therapy is the most important component of Chinese Medicine and was largely unexplored outside China and its surrounding countries until the last decade. Over 300 Chinese herbs are commonly used. Each herb has specific healing powers and performs a particular job. The striking feature of Chinese herbal therapy is the combination of several Chinese herbs based on the conditions of individual patient.

Acupuncture is aimed to disperse any blockages of the meridians or ‘channels’ of the body at specific acupuncture points, which would be carefully identified by a Chinese doctor based on a sophisticated meridian theory and the blocking position of Qi at each disease condition. Moxibustion and Cupping are two therapies used on people with a cold or dampness condition. They can be used alone or in combination with acupuncture.

AcuMassage AcuMassage or TuiNa uses the traditional Chinese medical theory as its basic therapeutic orientation. This ancient Chinese bodywork is now gaining rapid acceptance in the Western world as a powerful therapeutic extension of traditional Western massage methods, such as the Swedish-style massage.
